COCC offers training in fixed,
rotary wing and UAS aircraft, leading to AA
degrees, pilot certifications and careers in
aviation.
This quarterly meeting is focused on aviation
training programs, UAS status and on bills currently in the
Oregon legislature that affect aviation.

2:00pm Karl Baldessari, COCC aviation program
coordinator and staff will present the college's
aviation training programs. Fixed wing,
helicopter, UAS.
2:45pm Aviation program updates

--Roberto Albertani, PhD, OSU associate professor.
3:15pm Update on aviation bills the Oregon
legislature and UAS update.
UAS John Stevens,
COO of
SOAR Oregon will
update us on the three Oregon unmanned
aerial system test ranges.
FAA UAS Proposed
rule making update by Seth Johnson
of
VDOS Global
Charlton Evans, Insitu, Inc presented the
FAA certification process overview for UAS.
4:00pm Jake Jacobs will present an update of the
following bills:
HB 2075
Aviation funding bill. $8.5 million
annually could be generated for aviation
in Oregon with a four cent per gallon
increase in aviation fuel tax. |
SB 534 Allows rural
airports to contract for city water and
sewer services without the requirement
of annexation |
HB 2038 Reduces owner
liability at privately owned airports |
